Frequently Asked Questions
What is Plasma Lift?
Plasma Lift is a 100% non-invasive and non-surgical procedure and is the only cosmetic treatment to use plasma which is considered the 4th state of the matter to reduce the volume of excess skin by generating collagen and elastin fibres that become weaker as a person ages.
How does Plasma fibroblast treatment work and what is the principle behind the Plasma Lift?
The Plasma Pen is a handheld device that is held a millimetre from the surface of the skin but near enough to create a small stream of energy as the plasma reacts to your body’s electrical charge. The principle is to ionizes gases in the air and to create stream of energy called “plasma arc” in the epidermal and dermal areas of the skin
Once ‘plasma arc’, makes contact with your skin, a small scab is formed and the area around this scab is instantly tightened. These scabs will all fall off to reveal a new skin which is tight by boosting collagen production by the body which your skin’s production of collagen in the affected area, meaning that your skin will continue to tighten months after you leave the clinic!
What device is used?
A small hand held device called Plasma pen is used by highly trained plasma fibroblast specialists to provide a non-invasive treatment for a variety of skin concerns to generate new skin.
This extremely accurate device works by producing a micro-millimetre pulse of “plasmatic lightning” from the probe to the skin which evaporates and causes the area to contract, without any unwanted heat transmission to surrounding skin.
What are the benefits?
It is a proven alternative to surgery which improves sun damaged skin, bringing fresher, firmer, more youthful looking skin, improving fine lines and sun damage. It’s the only treatment that has a proven record of generating new skin. Very specific areas of the epidermis are treated without affecting the surrounding skin or risk of damaging deeper layers of skin.
Are the results long lasting?
Very often, only one treatment is required to see the change and these effects of the treatment are permanent. After few years, many people come for a top up after 3 or 4 years as the skin undergo continuous changes as people age.
What is the healing period?
Healing period is short and the scabs that form will start falling away after about three days, and 1 week all the scabs should normally come off .
What are the risks?
It has low risk, minimal downtime and more affordable than surgery. Treatments can result in some immediate reactions including redness, minor bleeding and swelling. In upper eyelid area, swelling and redness may appear which will gradually disappear. Do not pick any scabs which may follow the aesthetic treatment. This occurs within 10 days from the aesthetic treatment. This alone will suffice as after-care. All other aftercare treatments are not strictly required as the body will naturally takes care of the healing process.
Is it alternative to Botox?
Unlike Botox which needs top up every few months, treatment with Plasma Fibroblast is long lasting. At the same time Plasma Fibroblast treatment has no adverse reactions like migration of the substance (Botox), neck pain, dry mouth, droopy eye lids which can sometimes appear with Botox.
